Red woke up in his bed. Another new day.

Red had defeated the Elite Four and his rival, Blue, in the Pokemon League. Now, he was resting in his home of Pallet Town before his next adventure.

He had 4 of his Pokemon with him: Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Poliwhirl, and Snorlax.

Red got dressed, ate some breakfast, and took a walk in the woods.

While Red was passing a small river, he saw a Pokemon. A very unusual Pokemon. It looked sort of like static on a TV that didn't quite work. It looked as if it had small bits of other Pokemon in it: A Charmander's claw, a Zubat's fang. It was very strange.

Red instantly flipped open his PokeDex. But the screen just sort of went all weird like it was messed up.
Red threw a Poke-Ball. "Go! Pikachu!" he yelled.

But the Pokemon was already gone.

Red recalled Pikachu, and ran over to Professor Oak's lab.

Red thought long and hard over how to describe this Pokemon. It looked like a bunch of static floating in midair, with those bits of Pokemon in it. So weird....

There had been rumors of mysterious Pokemon sightings. Mews, Ho-Ohs, Lugias, Mewtwos, it goes on. Was this one of those Legendary Pokemon? Red hoped so. He wanted to be a famous eyewitness.
But why had it made his PokeDex go all screwy?

Red walked over to Professor Oak's lab. The Prof was eating his lunch, but he almost choked on it when he heard Red talk about it.

"Red, I think you just saw a Legendary Pokemon, although I'm not sure how safe it is to look for it. My studies show that it is called a MissingNo, because its statistical number is 000. It's said that the fangs and tails within it are from Pokemon that it has destroyed. It is said that the trainer who catches it will have their body shattered to pieces. It is said that it has mastered the attack Water Gun twice, and it also uses Sky Attack. Its levels can exceed 100!"

Red wrote all this information down, as it could not be entered in the PokeDex. He put his notebook in his pocket. "Professor Oak, do you think I should look for MissingNo?" Red asked him.

"I wouldn't myself, but I can see that you would go out and find it anyways. All right, you can go. But remember the dangers... Ah! Take this with you!"

Oak placed a Gold-and Silver coloured Poke-Ball in Red's hand. It had the letters "GS" on the top half.

"This is a GS Ball. Nobody knows what it does, but maybe you could use it to try and catch MissingNo. Be careful...."

"Thanks" Red told him. He put the GS Ball in his pack and left the lab.

Oak watched him leave. "I do hope he's careful...." Oak thought to himself, "Those rumors could be true...."

Red started searching in Viridian City. He sort of walked around, doing nothing much, when he noticed a huge battle.

The Pikachu Pack was fighting the Squirtle Squad!

Red's Pikachu jumped in to join the fight. The Squirtle's leader was injured, and Pikachu was closing in on him. Just then, Officer Jenny came by.

"Is this your Pikachu?" She asked. Red nodded.

"Well then, you need to come to the station. I can't trust that yours isn't part of the Pikachu Pack."
Red reluctantly agreed. They brought over a girl traveling with her family named May Spring.

Wow, she's so pretty, Red thought. Too bad she lives in Goenn.

May had an unusual ability to speak and understand Pokemon language. She questioned both the leader of the Pikachu Pack and Red's Pikachu.

"Everything's fine." May told them. "It saw the other Pikachus and wanted to help them."

"All right, you're free to go," Jenny told them. "But stay out of trouble, OK?"

Red continued down the path, off to Viridian Forest. Suddenly, a wild Pidgey appeared!

"Go! Poliwhirl!" Red yelled. His Poliwhirl appeared in a flash of light. Poliwhirl was a blue tadpole with a swirl on its stomach. It is the evolved form of Poliwag.

Poliwhirl started with a water Gun attack. Pidgey then used Sand-Attack, which lowered Poliwhirl's HP. Poliwhirl then used Swift. A stream of stars headed Pidgey's way, all perfectly hitting it. Sensing Pidgey's weakened-ness, Red threw a Poke-Ball. Pidgey was captured.

Red went to the Pokemon Center and got Pidgey and Poliwhirl healed. He then continued into the forest.

Inside the Viridian Forest, all was still. The bushed rustled with Weedles and Caterpies. The trees were filled with Kakunas and Metapods. A few Pikachu and Pidgeotto were around. Also, a flock of Butterfree gathered around some sunflowers.

Red walked quietly. He turned a corner, walked up, and looked around, hoping to find MissingNo. He didn't. He saw a Ratatta instead. How dull.

A few months later, Red rode his Bike over to Fuschia City. His search so far had been in vain, but his Pidgey was now a Pidgeotto. He now had Poliwrath, Bulbasaur, Pikachu, Snorlax, and Pidgeotto. He noticed a Zoo, which was in front of the Safari Zone. He walked in, hoping to find MissingNo, but he realized he would have to pay 500 Yen. He did, and started his search....

He had an uneventful start. Nidorans, Parases, etc. He stopped at a rest house to get some sleep, no knowing what would happen next.......

When Red woke up, he was still in the rest house. He decided to leave the Safari Zone. The idiot guards thought he had just come when he came out of the safari zone! He declined to pay, and he left. After going back to Cycling Road and biking for awhile, a Safari Zone van drove up to him. They said to him, "Your Safari Game is over, come back with us now!"

Red was very confused. Hadn't he already left? He was returned to the SZ office, where he returned his Safari Balls and was then escorted out of the building.

Red gasped in complete shock. The whole town of Fuschia was static, like MissingNo! There was a path, half a Gym, small puddles of water, traps around every corner....it made Red feel sick. Suddenly, he was something stick out amongst all the static....it was MissingNo.

MissingNo slowly moved towards Red. Red was shocked in horror. First stuck in this Static Town, now MissingNo was closing in on him? He was doomed.

But then, MissingNo made a sound, and a soft, relaxing light surrounded Red. He felt like falling asleep.......
Slowly he dozed off.....

He woke up back home in Pallet Town. He had all his Pokemon, all his stuff.....
What does all that mean? Red wondered. Did MissingNo....help me?

Red walked over to Prof Oak's lab. The town was perfect, no static. He would never watch TV again, after seeing all that static.

Oak was surprised to see Red. "Well, did you find it?"

Red told him what had happened. Oak was very surprised, yet also knowledgeable. "Red, you came across the fabled land of Staticopolis [ED: Glitch Town]. It seems that you have stumbled into the MissingNo's homeland, but somehow, you've been transported out. What's the last thing you remember before you fell asleep?"

"Well, I was trapped by an invisible force. My legs felt like they were made of steel and iron combined. Suddenly, amongst all the static, MissingNo appeared.... I felt like I was about to die. But then, this blue light surrounded me....I felt so relaxed, like I was about to sleep....just as I was drifting off, MissingNo said something....then I woke up here."

"It appears that the MissingNo decided to spare your life, however I do not know why." Oak told him. "Most eyewitnesses claim that MissingNo is a destructive creature. This is very important information. May I use it, Red?"

"Sure. And you should make a small file in the PokeDex so people can read about it."

"Definetly. And Red, I think you should head back to Viridian City. I hear there is a Pokemon Expert there, call me on your PokeGear after you speak with him."

Red nodded. "Right away, Professor!"

And Red ran off into the distance, ready to continue his adventure.

Red saw him. The expert. He was an older guy, with plenty of experience. When Red asked him for advice, he sort of went nuts.

"You need advice? Hey, watch this!" the guy charged into battle with an unsuspecting Rattata. He flung a Poke Ball at it, which captured it.

"But remember, you gotta weaken it first! That's the key to everything!"

Red nodded and uneasily said, "Thanks...bye!"

Red then unleashed his Pidgeot. He commanded it to Fly him to Cinnabar Island, to cool off. (Cool of near a volcano?)
At Cinnabar, Red hopped on Poliwrath and took a dip near the shoreline. It was relaxing, refreshing.... Surfing near the beach, watching the Pidgeys flutter and the Ratattas scamper.... it was perfect.

As he was passing the part of the beach near the Gym, which towered over him, he fell into a Black Hole. Inside, Red and Poliwrath were standing in thin air. Everything around them was black. Except for one thing. It was familiar now; the static in midair, with bits of other Pokemon in it.

MissingNo.

Red flipped his hat backwards. He was ready for battle.

"I'm gonna beat you, MissingNo! I'm gonna be your master! You just watch!"
