I've been trying to access the Reading Festival website for over half an hour now, but so are the other half a million people who want to go. I don't think I'm going to get to go this year. Oh, that the internet were a big truck.

Who is playing this year?
Dunno. The Killers are headlining Saturday, but that's all they'd announced before the site went down. I've heard rumours of Rage Against the Machine and Green Day, but the source wasn't hugely reliable.
SO FAR it sounds like I would pass
This year it's all about motherfucking Roskilde. There's some badass shit going down there.
Of course, it's in Denmark, and that's far away from pretty much anyone. Even though certain of my acquaintances have bought tickets and I now hate them.

Welp, it looks like Friday and Saturday are going to be indie dirge-fests, and then Sunday is Refugees From Download Festival Day in the form of Metallica, Slipknot, Avenged Sevenfold and some others. Tenacious D are playing, but I'm not paying eighty quid to see them, especially when I aggressively dislike the rest of the bands.

Yeah, I was looking at Reading Festival earlier, and there were maybe two or three good bands. Why were you so anxious to go again?
Because last year they had Paramore, The Arcade Fire and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, all in one day. And the year before that they had Arctic Monkeys, Muse, Kaiser Chiefs and a whole other bunch of awesome stuff that I forget now.

I think he's doing the whole album, actually, but at any rate it's still $300 for one performance out of a three-day festival that mostly sucks.

I'd only pay that much to see Roger Waters if he were with the whole band, but they all hate each other now.
In fairness, I think it's more that everyone else hates Roger Waters. Actually I think I remember reading that Dave Gilmour and Nick Mason have said they'd be willing to play as the whole band again, but Rick Wright still doesn't want anything to do with Roger Waters.
